Getting Started: A New Boutique in Palmer!
The beginning of our journey.
I want people to succeed doing what they love! I think almost everything I have done in this life so far has been deeply rooted in wanting creatives to have a space to create, and this extends into the inner landscape and deep work an artist has to explore to find their voice. This is where the passion for opening a rentable studio came from why I have led creative networking groups for over five years and facilitated workshops, coaching, and brand design.
The rentable studio/co-working space took a hit opening 4 months before covid went full swing. We weathered the pandemic but our building plans for a new space are far behind. In the building there was always going to be a makers mart of sorts. So that the creatives using the building had another spot to share their creations.
So, I have had this dream tucked away on a secret Pinterest board for a very long time, and I have an opportunity to make it happen even sooner than I expected. As you might know, we also own Bleeding Heart Brewery and have shared space with Alaska Picker for a long time. They closed up shop and are planning their great escape from Alaska, which left us with some extra space. Thinking through brewery expansion ideas and what's the best use of that space, we decided it was time to launch that dream tucked away on the Pinterest board. There will be more seating added for BHB and then the rest of the building will be my store!
I believe that how we spend our money shapes our world. Like most Alaskans, I feel very isolated from access to quality products, furniture, and quite a lot of goods. The outrageous shipping whammy's we get hit with make conscious purchasing a challenge. I also believe in supporting artisans and small businesses to stimulate the economy and encourage creative expression. It is with those beliefs that a criterion for sourcing was born. My slogan for this store is: Thoughtfully sourced goods for the heart and home!
I am opening a store filled with heart, wonder, and really freakin’ cool stuff! It will be inside the brewery, creating a unique atmosphere where people can sip and shop!

A blank slate!
My first employee and I are already chipping away at sourcing, ordering, and designing the store! We have almost everything ordered and on the way!
The top two priorities are finding employees and sourcing more artisans, and I would love our help!
